A free trend chart for Looker Studio, built by Beards Analytics. Dark halftone panels with a glowing contour and a spotlight that follows your cursor — add it to any report and it runs on your own data.
Not a screenshot — the same visualization that renders inside Looker Studio, here on sample data. Move your cursor across a panel.
hover to reveal the spotlight · dashed line is the previous period · nothing moves on its own
It installs like any Looker Studio chart. Copy the path, paste it once, and it's in your chart list.
In your report: Add a chart → Community visualizations and components → Build your own.
Paste the path above and click Submit.
Pick Dark Metric Trends and click Allow on the consent dialog.
Drop a date into the dimension and up to six metrics.
Set the style — accent, stats, comparison, number format — and you're done.
It behaves like Google's built-in charts — pick it from the list, assign fields, and it renders on live data.
One time axis, one or more metrics. Each metric becomes its own dark panel — revenue, deposits, active users, conversions over time.
A glowing contour, halftone area fill and hover spotlight make the shape of the trend obvious even on a wall-mounted dashboard.
Accent palette, grid, summary stats, number format and text sizes are style options — tune it per report without touching code.
Only the fields you drop into the chart. Nothing else from the data source is visible to it.
A time axis — date, week or month.
One panel is drawn per metric, stacked vertically.
Accent colour, spotlight, grid, which stats to show, comparison period, number format and text sizes.
The part your compliance team asks about first. Community visualizations are sandboxed by Google — this one included.
The chart runs in a sandboxed iframe. Google's Content Security Policy blocks all requests to external servers — it physically cannot send your data anywhere.
The sandbox has no access to Looker Studio's cookies, tokens or the host page — only the fields passed into the chart.
The full JavaScript is readable. Your IT team can review every line before it's added to a report.
Community visualizations can be turned off at the data-source level at any time, per organisation.
